Easy Jungle Theme Adornments To Create

Use a jungle snake, as inspiration, when creating party decorations.

Save time and money by making your own decorations for a child's jungle-themed birthday party. You can customize the look of the celebration by creating your own crafty decor rather than buying it from a costly party supply store. For an authentic look, make colorful snake, crocodile and tropical bird-inspired decorations that you can use to give the party space a jungle flair. To make the party planning even more budget-friendly, send guests home with the crafts as party favors.

Instructions

Paper Plate Snake

1. Cut a plain white paper plate to resemble a snake's body. Start at the plate's outside edge and begin cutting it into a spiral shape. Leave 4 inches of the center of the paper plate uncut to create the snake's head.

2. Decorate the paper snake with craft paint. Paint the front of the snake's body green or create multi-colored stripes. Allow the front of the craft to thoroughly dry before turning it over and painting the backside with the same color or pattern.

3. Attach two plastic googly eyes to the snake's head with craft glue. Draw the snake's eyes with a black marker as another option.

4. Cut a forked snake tongue shape out of red construction paper. Glue the tongue under the eyes to complete the decoration. Keep the snake coiled as table decor or pull it apart to wrap it around objects.

Toothpaste Box Crocodile

5. Paint an empty cardboard toothpaste box green and allow it to thoroughly dry.

6. Use a craft knife to cut one end of the box into a hinged mouth, complete with jagged teeth.

7. Glue two small Styrofoam balls to the top of the box for the crocodile's eyes. Create pupils and nostrils with a black marker.

8. Glue two Styrofoam packing peanuts to each side of the box to resemble the crocodile's arms and legs. Display the crocodile on the party table as a whimsical touch.

Tropical Parrot

9. Cover an empty toilet paper roll with bright yellow craft paint and allow it to thoroughly dry.

10. Glue two plastic googly eyes to the top of the paper roll.

11. Cut two triangular pieces from orange craft foam. Bend each piece of foam in the middle and glue them to the roll to create the bird's beak.

12. Glue colorful craft feathers all around the inside of the top of the toilet paper roll, plume-side out. Glue two feathers to each side of the parrot as wings and one at the bottom as a tail.
