Looking for the perfect hair accessory for your wedding, but short on cash? Make feather headbands at home for you and your bridesmaids for less than $5 a piece. Feathered headbands are the perfect accessory for quirky brides and offbeat weddings. Choose feathers in colors to complement the palette of your wedding. Skinny headbands work best for this project, but you can use any width you like as long as the headband is stiff and sturdy.
Instructions
1. Cut a piece of neutral-colored felt into a circle with a 3-inch diameter or a 3-inch by 3-inch square.
2. Arrange the feathers on to the piece of felt without using any glue to develop your design. Layer feathers of different lengths one over another to create a full, cascading effect. Use larger feathers at the bottom of the piece and smaller, thinner feathers at the top.
3. Glue the feathers into place on to the felt with a hot glue gun or tacky glue.
4. Position the felt on to the headband with the feathers facing up. Sandwich the headband between the feathered felt and another, smaller piece of felt. Glue the two pieces of felt together on either edge of the headband to hold it in place.
5. Allow the glue to dry completely before wearing your headband.
