Create A Paper Poultry

This is the hand turkey that everyone makes in 3rd grade art class for Thanksgiving, but this is the ultimate version. This craft is a great family activity or classroom activity for younger school age children.

Instructions

1. On white construction paper, trace your hand and then cut it out.

2. The four fingers are made to represent feathers. Using whatever colors you would like, draw a line lengthwise down the center of each finger shape.

3. Starting at the center of each feather, draw diagonal lines, pointing in downward rows. These lines are meant to make the fingers look more like feathers.

4. In red construction paper, cut out a small oval. This is the wattle. Glue it under the bottom of the thumb shape, which is the head of the turkey.

5. Cut out two skinny L-shaped legs in any color paper. Glue them on the body, which is the fleshy part of the hand.

6. With any colored marker, make a dot at the top of the thumb. This is the eye.

7. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
