Hair feathers allow you to add color to your hair without permanently altering it. Buy long rooster or peacock feathers at beauty supply stores or from online retailers, then crimp them into your hair using silicone beads. To get the beads onto your hair, you need a hair feathering tool. Also known as pulling hooks, hair feathering tools have a small hooked end that allow you to pull a thin strand of hair through the bead.
Instructions
1. Close the latch on the feathering tool.
2. Slide a silicone crimping bead over the hooked end and onto the shaft.
3. Gather a very thin strand of hair. Twist it until the twist reaches your scalp.
4. Open the latch on the feathering tool and catch the twisted strand in the hook approximately 2 inches from your scalp. Close the latch again.
5. Slip the bead off the shaft of the tool and onto your hair. Pull the hooked hair through the bead.
6. Slide the end of the feathers under the bead. Crimp the bead shut with the crimping tool.
