"The Sims 2: Castaway" is a spin-off of the PC game "The Sims 2" for the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable consoles. The game follows the story of a group of Sims that become shipwrecked on an island. The castaways discover a set of lost books that contain goals they need to complete in order to survive and eventually get off the island, including harvesting chicken eggs.
Instructions
1. Approach the two large rocks on the beach where you start the game and choose the "Craft Bench" prompt to build a bamboo workbench.
2. Build a chicken trap at the workbench, which requires a knife, 10 softwood and a mechanical skill of 5.
3. Search the West River Plains area for piles of chicken feathers. Choose the "Set: Chicken Trap" prompt on a pile of feathers to lay the trap. If you see an actual chicken, walk toward it to make it fly away and it will leave feathers behind. Lay the trap on the feathers.
4. Check the traps regularly by visiting them and choosing the "Recover Trap" prompt until you see a notification that you have caught a chicken. At the same time you catch your first chicken, you will also receive the plans to build a chicken coup. The first chicken you catch will automatically be used for meat since you have not yet built the coop.
5. Build a chicken coup at the workbench. This requires 10 softwood, 10 grass, 10 vine and a mechanical skill of 4.
6. Catch another chicken in the trap.
7. Walk over to the chicken coop and choose the "Add Chicken" prompt to move the chicken into the coop.
8. Choose the "Serenade" prompt on the chicken in the coop to persuade it to lay eggs.
9. Wait for the eggs to appear, then choose "Harvest Eggs."
