Throw A Diva Party

Make your friends feel like divas at your glamorous party.

Divas notoriously love glitz, glamor and posh surroundings--all of which make the perfect background for a stylish party. Begin your party planning by choosing a venue that is not too large for you to decorate in a luxurious manner. Even the humblest of homes or party rooms can become a diva paradise. Whether hosting a friend's milestone birthday party or just needing a theme for a girls night at home, a diva party will leave guests feeling special and pampered.

Instructions

Preparing for the Party

1. Write down your guest list. The total number will help you choose the venue.

2. Walk your home or potential venues to determine if the area is large enough to hold all your guests comfortably. Make a deposit and book your party room if you have selected this option.

3. Write the date, time, location and name of your party inside leopard or zebra print invitations. Add an RSVP note at the bottom along with a phone number.

4. Embellish your card with a few inches of hot pink marabou feathers. Hot glue them to the top of the card.

5. Mail your invitations and jot down the names as guests RSVP.

6. Select a color scheme for your diva party decorations. Diva themes often incorporate animal prints combined with cherry red or hot pink.

7. Cover tables with sumptuous black satin sheets as tablecloths, and place zebra print pillows in the chairs.

8. Place a large hurricane vase in the center of the table. Fill the vase with a hot pink feather boa and a strand of white battery-operated mini lights.

9. Make finger foods or buy elegant hors d'oeuvres to serve. Arrange them neatly on plastic silver trays and place them on the table.

10. Sprinkle the table with iridescent decorating stones.

At the Party

11. Put your party CD in the player and set it to repeat. The music should be loud enough to provide adequate background music without overpowering the party.

12. Greet guests when they enter the party with light-up jewelry. Show guests to their seats and take them around the room to make introductions. Use diva terms in your introduction like the "Meet the fabulous..." or "This is super-diva..."

13. Ask guests to randomly stop and pose for diva-style pictures. Use a camera with a substantial flash to give the impression that you are the paparazzi.

14. Take turns singing karaoke songs. Encourage friends to put on diva-style performances and hand out awards for the best songs.
