Crochet A Shrug Bolero

Crocheting is a great way to create your own fashions.


This bolero shrug is a hot fashion item this season and is a simple crochet project. It is the perfect solution to cover bare shoulders or dress up a tank top. Instructions


1. Work the first sleeve. The sleeves are worked in rounds. Chain 14 loosely with two strands of yarn held together. Join with slip stitch and work one round of single crochet stitches. For round two, single crochet seven, then chain one and single crochet seven more stitches. For round three, single crochet 15 stitches. For round four, single crochet seven stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet seven stitches. For rounds five through seven, single crochet stitches. For round eight, single crochet eight stitches then chain one, single crochet, chain one, and single crochet eight stitches. For rounds nine through eleven, single crochet 19 stitches. For round 12, single crochet nine stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet nine stitches. For rounds 13 through 15, single crochet 21 stitches. For round 16, single crochet ten stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet ten stitches. For round 17, single crochet 23 stitches. For round 18, single crochet 11 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one , and single crochet 11 stitches. For round 19, single crochet 25 stitches. For round 20, single crochet 12 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 12 stitches. For round 21, single crochet 27 stitches. For round 22, single crochet 13 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 13 stitches. For round 23, single crochet 29 stitches. For round 24, single crochet 14 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 14 stitches. For round 25, single crochet 31 stitches. For round 26, single crochet 15 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 15 stitches. For round 27, single crochet 33 stitches. For round 28, single crochet 16 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 16 stitches. For rounds 29 through 31, single crochet 35 stitches then chain one and turn.


2. Work the back on the wrong side. Skip first stitch then single crochet 35 stitches, working last stitch into the same stitch as first stitch of the row. Chain one and turn work right side. Skip first stitch then single crochet 35 stitches. Chain one and turn work on wrong side. Skip first stitch then single crochet 35 stitches. Chain one and turn. Continue working single crochet stitches in rows until length from top of sleeve measures 8 inches long and 20 inches wide.


3. Work the other sleeve. From the right side of the row, single crochet 34 stitches, then do two single crochet stitches in the first stitch of the row to join work in rounds. For rounds one through three, single crochet 35 stitches. For round four, single crochet 16 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 16 stitches. For round five, single crochet 33 stitches. For round six, single crochet 15 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 15 stitches. For round seven, single crochet 31 stitches. For round eight, single crochet 14 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 14 stitches. For round nine, single crochet 29 stitches. For round ten, single crochet 13 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 13 stitches. For round 11, single crochet 27 stitches. For round 12, single crochet 12 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 12 stitches. For round 13, single crochet 25 stitches. For round 14, single crochet 11 stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet 11 stitches. For round 15, single crochet 23 stitches. For round 16, single crochet ten stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet ten stitches. For rounds 17 through 19, single crochet 21 stitches. For round 20, single crochet nine stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet nine stitches. For rounds 21 through 23, single crochet 19 stitches. For round 24, single crochet eight stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet eight stitches. For rounds 25 through 27 single crochet 17 stitches. For round 28, single crochet seven stitches then chain one, single crochet one, chain one, and single crochet seven stitches. For round 29, single crochet 15 stitches. For round 30, single crochet seven stitches then chain one and single crochet seven stitches. For round 31, single crochet 14 stitches and end round with a slip stitch. Cut yarn and darn in ends.
