Habitat
American crows can be found almost anywhere in the United States. They are more prevalent in farm areas and woodlands but can make their homes in cities, and by the shore as well.
Diet
The American crow is a scavenger, so it will eat anything that it can find. Other dead animals as well as insects, seeds, eggs and even grass are part of its diet.

In captivity, American crows have been taught to count, do tricks, and even mimic humans. Crows are also good problem solvers; they have been seen using tools like rocks and sticks to break open shells and nuts.
