Ballerina hairstyles are often up and away from the face, as dancers exert quite a bit of energy, which increases heat and sweat. Ballerina hairstyles---hair that is slicked back in a tight bun or pushed off the face---are conducive to and practical for dancing. You can embellish plastic headbands to create a stylish ballerina accessory that also conveniently tucks stray hairs out of the way.
Instructions
1. Purchase basic plastic-frame headbands at a craft store or drugstore.
2. Apply glue to the inner corner and inside edge of a plastic headband. Apply a thin line of glue on the entire edge of the headband that will be against the head.
3. Press the beginning end of a ribbon or fabric into the glue, and wrap the ribbon or fabric around the headband so that the plastic frame is completely covered.
4. Cut off the extra fabric or ribbon with scissors.
5. Apply a thin line of glue to a small comb's non-toothed edge and attach it at the middle of the headband, with the comb's teeth facing toward the back of the head. The comb will keep the headband in place for dancing purposes.
6. Apply decorative pieces to the top of the ballerina headband with glue.
7. Place the headband where it can stand and dry for at least two hours prior to wearing.
