Create A Funky Silk Flower Feather Corsage Or Hair Accessory

Create a funky silk flower corsage or hair accessory for a special occasion such as a wedding or prom that uses feathers as a fun accent. Choose your choice of feathers such as brown feathers for a fall wedding or bright peacock feathers to add color to your prom ensemble. The handmade silk flower feather corsages and hair accessories give you the chance to personalize your accessories and stand out from the crowd.

Instructions

1. Purchase an elastic corsage holder or hair accessory that is the same color and style as your embellishments. Possible embellishments aside from feathers and silk flowers include buttons, rhinestones and beads.

2. Prepare your silk flowers by pulling off the stems and leaves so that the back of the flower is flat. You may also want to trim your feathers to better fit the size of your corsage or hair accessory.

3. Plug in your hot glue gun to allow it to heat up and arrange your corsage or hair accessory how you want it to look. By planning ahead of time, you will save yourself from having to correct mistakes later. Place the items on top of the corsage holder or hair accessory to make sure your feathers, flowers and embellishments fit correctly.

4. Assemble the corsage or hair accessory by starting with the largest items first such as your feathers; glue them down with hot glue. Add your silk flowers next followed by the embellishments. As you add each item, hold them down for several seconds until the glue begins to dry before continuing to the next.
