Cut Uneven Bangs

Cut uneven bangs with a pair of hair shears.

Uneven bangs, also known as choppy bangs, are used with a variety of hairstyles. To cut uneven bangs, a technique called point cutting is used. This is when your bangs are cut at an angle, which creates a point at the end of your hair. The deeper the angle, the more uneven your bangs will be. Whether you are in between haircuts or simply want to try something new, this technique will give you uneven bangs.

Instructions

1. Wash and dry your hair. Ensure your hair is completely dry. Avoid cutting your bangs when your hair is wet. As your hair dries, your bangs will shrink, causing shorter bangs.

2. Comb your hair. Section off your bangs. Use a hair clip to hold the rest of your hair out of the way.

3. Comb your bangs straight down, over your forehead. Position your index and middle finger at the top of your bangs. Slide your fingers down, slightly past the point where you want your bangs to end. Cut off the excess hair, below your fingers.

4. Hold the hair shears in a vertical position, with the tip of the shears pointing up. Cut into your bangs at a 45 degree angle, using upward snips. Cut small "v" shapes into your bangs. The bigger the "v" shape, the more uneven your bangs will be. Work from one side of your bangs, to the other.

5. Comb your bangs, to check your progress. Repeat Step 4, until you achieve your desired look.
