Purchase A Macaw Parrot

Macaws make wonderful pets.

Macaw parrots are beautiful and interesting birds that can make great pets. Outliving dogs and cats, macaws have a lifespan of up to 50 years. They also come in a variety of colors and have big personalities. If you are interested in purchasing a macaw, here are few steps you should follow.

Instructions

1. Visit your local pet store. Your local pet store may sell macaw parrots or may be able to put you in contact with another pet store that does.

2. Find a macaw breeder in your local newspaper. Bird breeders often post advertisements for their birds in local newspapers. By searching the "for sale" or "pets" section of your newspaper you will be able to find any macaw breeders that live in your area. If none are advertised, you can put a "wanted" advertisement in your newspaper expressing your desire to purchase a macaw.

3. Purchase a macaw parrot online. Websites such as avianbreeder.com will help you find macaw parrots for sale and also include a directory of breeders in your area. Sometimes the people who are selling the macaws will even ship them to your location free-of-charge.
