Oreo Cookie Art Projects

Oreos can make fun art projects.

Oreo cookies are delightfully delicious snacks that are enjoyed by young and old. These cookies can also step over into the field of art with a wide variety of ways to use Oreos. A great deal of pleasure can be derived from these projects. It is even more fun if the Oreo project design and creation time can be done with your friends gathered around a table.

Oreo Penguin

Make a penguin using Oreos, candy corn and chocolate kisses. Begin by evenly splitting the Oreo in half. Cut the cookie that has no icing in half. Put the unwrapped chocolate kiss at the top of the Oreo that has icing on it. To make the wings, take the remaining cooking halves and place the rounded side towards the center, one on each side of the penguin. Make the feet by placing 2 candy corn pieces at the bottom of the cookie pointing downwards. Eyes can be made by using a squirt of frosting.

Penguin Turkey

Make an Oreo turkey using candy corn, icing, and small pieces of cinnamon candies. Pull the Oreo cookie apart and put a squirt of icing a slight distance from the middle on the frosting-covered cookie. Put the cookies together, so that they are slightly askew. Place five pieces of candy corn along the back so they are sticking up to make the feathers. Make the head of the turkey with a squirt of icing. Stick on small cinnamon candies to make the waddle on the neck. The eyes can be made by using two squirts of icing or white paper dots.

Oreo Butterflies

To make Oreo butterflies, you will need five Oreos, yellow icing, black licorice, green gumdrops, and circular fruit gummy snacks. Cut one Oreo in half and then split each piece to make the wings. Smooth the yellow icing over the wings. Put icing on a whole Oreo to use as the base of the butterfly. Place the wings along the sides and ice the sides and around the edge. Cut a thin piece off of two gumdrops and place it together to form the body. Cut another piece of the gumdrops to use for the head and apply to the top of the body. Cut the licorice to form the antennae. Make two small indentations at the top of the head and place each antenna inside the holes. Use icing to adhere the wings. Use split gumdrop pieces and fruit gummy snacks to decorate the wings.

Oreo Bunnies

To make an Oreo bunny, you will need four Oreo cookies, jelly beans, vanilla icing, coconut flakes, and green gel. Make a cut in the middle of the cookie. Cut out a half-circle along the side of another cookie. Stand it up with the side that was cut facing upwards. Put the cookies together using the icing. Place another cookie in the cut on the head of the bunny and smear on icing for stability. Split another cookie in two and cut the pointed area off of one end of each half. Place the ends that were cut on the bunny's head. Make the ears with more icing. Use whole jelly beans as the feet. Cut jelly beans in half for the nose and eyes. Add the finishing touches with the gel and coconut flakes.
