Create A Cheap Parrot Toy

Make a Cheap Parrot Toy. Parrots love having toys to play with and chew on. There is a nice variety of parrot toys for sale in most pet shops. However, it is not necessary to buy toys for your parrot as long as the you take the time to make him some. Parrot toys can be very cheap and easy to make.

Instructions

1. Purchase a bag of untreated rawhide chips. Instead of rawhide you could also use pieces of non toxic wood, pieces of cardboard, or large hard wood beads sold in craft stores. All of these items are inexpensive, but cardboard is the cheapest.

2. Cut a piece of twice, or take a clean unused shoe lace.

3. Drill holes in the center of your rawhide or wood pieces. If you are using cardboard you can cut the holes with the sharp point on a pair of scissors. If you are using beads they already have wholes in the center.

4. String the rawhide, wood, cardboard or beads onto the twine. Tie a knot in the twine after each piece that you put on to hold it in place.

5. Space each of your pieces of material a couple of inches apart.

6. Attach another small piece of twine to the top of the toy so you can hang the toy from the roof of your parrot's cage.
