Catch The Dogs In Pokemon Gold

The Legendary Pokemon "Ho-Oh" first created the Legendary "dogs," or beasts found in Pokemon lore. Introduced in Game Boy Color games Pokemon "Gold" and "Silver," each dog roams the entire Johto region after their awakening, challenging each trainer to capture them. To release the Legendary dogs, you must travel to Ecruteak City's "Burned Tower," where inside a living shrine to all three awaits.

Instructions

1. Fly to Ecruteak City and walk to the northwestern corner of the city; go through the entrance of the Burned Tower ahead. Traversing through the Burned Tower leads you to the Legendary beasts, subsequently "freeing" them to wander around the entire Johto region. Walk to the top left corner to smash a nearby cracked rock using the HM, or Hidden Move, "Rock Smash."

2. Battle the fire-breathing trainer ahead using Water and Psychic Pokemon for an advantage. Drop through the hole nearby and walk up the stairs ahead to find three statues representing the Legendary beasts. Watch the statues "revive" as you approach them; leave the tower once all three Pokemon start to roam Johto.

3. Level your Pokemon to around level 40 to ensure each beast won't overtake your Pokemon during battle. You can fight wild Pokemon or trainers you haven't battled to get the experience needed to level. Head to the nearest city or town to the Pokemart to purchase Ultra Balls, a type of Pokeball with a significantly improved chance of catching Pokemon.

4. Buy a few "Repels," an item that prevents low-level Pokemon from encountering you in battle. Using a Repel in grass or water keeps unwanted Pokemon from prolonging the search for the Legendary beasts. Purchase any other needed items at the Pokemart and head to the nearest route to find a patch of grass.

5. Save your game after approaching the patch of grass; use a Repel before taking a step. Start walking around in the grass to encounter a Pokemon; if you have a high level Pokemon in the first slot of your party, you'll have a better chance of encountering the beasts.

6. Battle each beast using Pokemon with a slight advantage against them. Water or Rock Pokemon moves work against Entei, Ground moves against Raikou, Electric and Grass Pokemon moves against Suicune. Use Ultra Balls or any other Pokeball to capture each beast once their health reaches the yellow or red range. Check your Pokedex to find the beasts if they run away during battle; you can traverse the entire Johto region, using your Pokedex as a guide, to find them faster.
