Diy Feather Headbands

Peacock feathers work well for this project.

You may have envied the feather headbands you've seen other ladies wear on and off the runways, but have been turned off by the often high price tag of the glamorous accessory. Crafting your own feathered headband allows you to customize the color, amount of feathers and overall style of the headband; also, because you can use a headband you already own, you know it will fit properly and be comfortable.

Instructions

Feather Covered Headband

1. Lay out your feathers next to your headband in the arrangement that you want to display on the headband.

2. Apply hot glue across the areas on the top of the headband to which you plan to attach feathers.

3. Press the feathers onto the glued areas, using the tweezers to avoid being burned by hot glue.

Headband with Feather Piece

4. Cut your sturdy fabric into a circle with a 3-inch diameter. Cut the interfacing to a circle of the same size. Iron the two together, following the interfacing's instructions.

5. Lay the circle fusing side down. Cover the circle with hot glue and attach feathers around the circle, covering the fabric. Glue your button over the feathers, covering any exposed quills.

6. Hot glue the piece to the one side of the headband.
