Cleanse The House With Whitened Zoysia Sage

The American Indians consider white buffalo sage sacred. People burn the white buffalo sage to purify the mind, body and spirit before praying. They also use it to purify the atmosphere of all negativity. People burn sage to purify their homes, offices or cars. To insure personal and spiritual safety, people often carry some white buffalo sage in their pocket or a special pouch.

Instructions

1. Buy a bundle of white buffalo sage. If you have garden space, you can grow your own white buffalo sage to make a smudge stick.

2. Set aside a time to burn the smudge stick to purify your home when no one is around and your will have no interruptions.

3. Open all the doors and drawers inside your home. This includes closet doors, dresser drawers and cabinets. The smoke of the white buffalo sage needs to penetrate into each place.

4. Pray to God or your divine source for protection. Ask also for guidance as you purify your home.

5. Place the smudge stick in a heatproof container filled with enough sand to keep the smudge stick upright. The Native Americans use an abalone shell for their container.

6. Remove the yarn that holds the sage together.

7. Light the tip and once there is a flame, blow it out. Blow on the embers a little to keep them smoldering.

8. Direct the smoke by waving your hand toward your body, beginning at your feet and continuing upwards to the top of your head. You can also use tail or wing feather from a bird. It is better to use a feather that you find, rather than buy it from a store or killing a bird for their feathers.

9. Direct the white buffalo sage smoke around the doors of your home first. Go through each room smudging around the entire door frame. Smudge the inside door frames, closet door frames and those leading to the outdoors.

10. Direct the smoke around every room in your house. Smudge the four corners of the room first and then direct the smoke to the middle of each room.

11. Say a prayer of thanks to God or the divine spirit for help and ask that those who dwell or enter your houses be blessed.

12. Open the windows and outside doors allowing the smoke to purge from your home with all the bad negative energy it absorbed. Fresh energy and harmony will fill you home.

13. Extinguish the sage by inverting the sage stick into sand or salt. Keep for use another day.
