Applying For Grants Taxidermy Booth Display

Design an exciting booth display that generates interest in taxidermy.

Generate interest and gather a crowd with a professional quality taxidermy booth display at your next event. A person sitting behind a table of business cards does not warrant a stop when the next display is giving away free mugs and the chance to win a vacuum. Trade shows and public events can be successful marketing opportunities for exciting topics such as taxidermy, the art of mounting dead animals for display, with a professional looking hands-on booth display.

Visual Point

Display a message about your work or hobby on a large display board.

Design your exhibit around a visual point that sends your message. Keep in mind your goals for the event and your target audience. Attract taxidermists, artists, sculptors, tanners, suppliers, adults and young people with examples of your work and a poster or video of the process. Keep text large on posters so it can be read from afar. Say more in fewer words, as people will not typically stop and read fine print. A short video, song, or even a puppet show about your topic will attract a variety of people.

Hands-on Display

Let people explore the textures of the trade with a display of fur hides.

Lay textured hides on a table covered with a tablecloth for people to touch and explore. Display a selection of tools of the trade with a poster describing each tool's purpose. Give people the opportunity to freely explore your art with activities and materials that generate interest and prompt questions related to the profession. A display of stuffed animals that represent those you have preserved and mounted will surely attract children and parents alike.

Photo Album

Create a photo album for people to look at.

Create a photo album with success stories, pictures, certificates and awards. Do not expect that people will sit down and read the album for a long period of time; do include topics in large fonts along with pictures that tell the story. Toward the back of the book, include testimonials and other information that you have available if someone requests it.

Giveaways

If someone can accurately tell you which of three cups the ball is under, give them a logo pen or keychain.

Encourage passersby who are not necessarily interested in taxidermy to stop at your booth for a chance to play a game and win something. Have a drawing for something valuable and attractive to your customers. Or offer the chance to play a simple game throughout the day to get energy and momentum flowing at your space.

Bowl of Candy

Individually wrapped candy is a simple treat.

Nobody can resist a sweet candy treat. Keep a supply of candy on display in a bowl that children can clearly see. Some people will feign interest in your booth simply to take a free peppermint. Children will see the candy and encourage their parents to stop for a piece.

Business Cards

Hand out business cards to anyone who shows interest.

Keep enough business cards on hand that you can give them away freely. Leave cards in an attractive holder for people to take at their leisure. If you give a card away, ask for the person's contact information and record it in a notebook on the table display. You will likely leave the event with a new list of contacts.
