Flowers are naturally feminine and come in a variety of colors and shapes.
Hair accessories can really add that extra detail that your outfit needs to round it off and make it feel complete. Traditionally women use headbands, clips or scrunchies as hair decoration and avoid the childish looking hair bows that are full of glitter and curls of fabric. There are, however, adult looking hair bows that can add extra detail without detracting from a professional look.
Flower Clips
Flowers offer a variety of colors and styles that can go with any outfit. You can attach silk flowers to bobby pins or clips to make them easy to add to any hairstyle or glue the end around a thick elastic to make it part of your ponytail holder. For a more formal event consider using rosebuds or small carnations but for a more casual affair choose flowers with larger petals such as lilies or irises.
Sleek Barret Pairs
For a business meeting you may want to accent your hair with something more understated and simple. Consider using very basic clips but instead of just putting them in place for utilitarian purposes, group them to create an extra element of style. Clip two plain black bar clips on one side of your hair while it's pulled up into a ponytail or clip your side-parted bangs out of the way with a set of simple monochromatic ribbon clips.
Feathers
Feather hair bows can be both sleek and formal or girly, flirty and casual. Pin a group of sleek feathers over a French twist in the back of your head so that they lie flat against your hair to jazz up a formal outfit and soften a severe up-do. Use downy feather clumps clipped to the top or sides of ponytails for a casual but well put together addition to a girly outfit. Sleek feathers will look more formal and fluffy down ones will have a more feminine effect.
Bird Clips
When people think about what to put in their hair they don't often consider animal figurines but a pair of birds can actually make your style creative while maintaining elegance. Use the wire at the bottom of the birds to attach them to your hair and arrange them so they sit on top of your up-do and look like they're cuddling in a nest. The ends of the wires can be hidden under your hair and the birds will create daring interest.
