Add feathers into a braid to make it more decorative.
If you enjoy braiding your hair, you may become tired of the same common three-strand braid time after time. One alternative is to add decorative items into the braid to make it more interesting and colorful. Incorporate colorful feathers into your braid that will make your hair look whimsical. You can add feathers by using materials that can be purchased at any supermarket or specialty hair care shop.
Instructions
1. Comb out your hair using a prong hairbrush. This will remove any tangles or knots and will enable you to braid your hair more efficiently.
2. Separate your hair into three sections, and tie a small elastic band around the bottom of each section.
3. Hold two of the strands in your left hand and the remaining strand in your right hand. Place the strand in your right hand in-between the two in your left hand, then grasp the two strands on the far right back into your right hand.
4. Place the strand that is now in your left hand in-between the two in your right hand. Grasp the two strands on the far left back into your left hand. Repeat the entire process until half of your hair has been braided in this manner.
5. Take the elastic band off the strand that you want to add a feather into. Separate out a small section of hair from that strand. Place a feather against the section, and tie the elastic band around the shaft of the feather to secure it onto the small section. Then place the small section containing the feather back together with the strand it was taken out of. This will secure the feather into one of the hair strands in the braid.
6. Continue braiding the rest of your hair, as before, until you reach the end of your hair. Take off all the elastic bands, and tie a single elastic hairband around the bottom of the braid to secure it into place.
