Feather Headband Crafts

Create a feather headband to express your style.

Some of the world's most majestic creatures wear feathers. People are now discovering that feathers can also add to their style. Feathered headbands are easy to make and look great as hair accessories. They can be worn by young and old alike. Feather headband crafts may be made elegant, colorful, or playful. They are a great craft for meeting the taste of a variety of personalities.

Elegant Feather Headband Pieces

The right feather headband piece can add a touch of elegance to the most sophisticated attire. These headbands are decorated with a small mass of feathers located on the side. Larger, patterned feathers and skinny headbands look best. Use a hot glue gun to attach feathers in the desired arrangement to interfaced fabric. Once the feathers are on, add to the hair piece by gluing buttons or other accessories to the middle of the feathers. When the feathered piece is complete, use the hot glue gun to attach it to the headband. The piece looks best when attached to the top of one side of the band.

Feather Covered Headbands

For these headband, smaller feathers work best. For added fun, use colorful feathers. These can show spirit when team colors are used. Once the feathers are chosen, carefully create a plan for the attachment. The feathers can be added in random style or in a color or size pattern. Use a hot glue gun to attach the feathers to the headband. Begin at one end of the band and work your way to the other end. The entire band should be covered when you are finished. Feathers will overlap.

Paper Feather Headbands

Paper feather headbands are great crafts for young children. Cheap novelty feathers can be purchased in most craft departments at stores. Staple or glue these feathers to paper headbands. Simply use a strip of construction paper to create the band. Wrap it around the child's head to ensure the proper fit then staple it together to make a loop. This is a great feather headband craft when discussing Indians.
