Make beautiful hair clips from peacock feathers and beads.
Peacock feathers are known for their vivid, jewel-toned coloration, and are often used in decorations and jewelry, like hair clips. Although you can buy real peacock feather hair clips from an artisan's shop, the clips are often costly. One solution is to make your own peacock clips using materials that can be found at any craft supply store: peacock feathers, iridescent beads and craft glue. Once finished, you can wear the hair clips yourself or give them to a loved one as a gift.
Instructions
1. Cut the long tip off of a peacock feather, leaving only the bulbous feather end and 3 inches of the shaft.
2. Insert a hot glue stick into a hot glue gun, and plug it in to heat up for a few minutes.
3. Squeeze a line of hot glue down the shaft of the peacock feather.
4. String three to four iridescent beads onto the shaft end of the peacock feather. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden for two minutes.
5. Squeeze hot glue onto the top of a metal hair clip.
6. Press the beaded peacock feather lengthwise onto the hair clip, and allow the glue to cool and harden for two minutes before wearing it.
