Choose a Hat for a Spring Wedding
Weddings are about dressing up, having fun and enjoying a day devoted to romance. The right outfit, hat included, can contribute to all these things. In fact, you can't be too dressy on a wedding day, so this is one day to pull out your favorite, fanciest hat and enjoy a spot of style.
Instructions
Investigate the Venue
1. Ask someone participating in the wedding whether it will be outdoors or indoors, in the sunshine or in the shade. The first step toward looking cool and collected is being comfortable. Take steps to keep the sun out of your eyes and the wind out of your hairdo.
2. Choose a very broad-brimmed hat if you want to make a fashion statement, but not if you will be at an event where there will be dancing. This is particularly true if the wedding and reception will be held in an intimate venue, unless you want to remove your hat and touch up your hair.
3. Buy a hat to match the theme of the spring wedding if the bride has included a theme on the invitation. You don't want to show up to a garden-party wedding in a structured-felt evening hat.
Challenge Yourself
4. Find a spring wedding hat that challenges your confidence level a little. When looking for an everyday hat, comfort is key, but when you go to choose a wedding hat, you'll want to take advantage of the occasion to explore elegance.
5. Select a hat with marabou feathers or a seductive, net veil for an evening wedding. Alternatively, a hat without trim, but that is perched to dip over one eye, provides an evening wedding look.
6. Find a wide-brimmed hat, and then go 3 inches wider. Huge, floppy hats look just right at weddings and flatter women of every age. Choose a floppy brim if you are wearing a casual outfit and a stiff brim if you are wearing formal or tailored attire.
