Wedding Focal point Ideas With Down

Use feathers to create stunning wedding centerpieces.

The options for creating wedding centerpieces can seem endless. Stick with the simplicity of soft feathers. There are a variety of different types of feathers to create just the right look for your wedding reception. By using fun feathers your guests will be sitting around a real conversation piece.

Peacock Feathers

Use peacock feathers to create a wedding reception centerpiece. Place three or more peacock feathers in an Eiffel vase. If it is a wider vase, arrange the feathers in rocks, beads, sand or marbles. This centerpiece goes well with a wedding that has been planned around brown, blue or green color shades. Consider placing the vase on a mirror tile with tea lights surrounding it. This look can be done at a low cost, especially if you are able to rent materials through a reception hall, country club, or wedding rental shop.

Ostrich Feathers

Get creative with ostrich feathers to create your wedding reception centerpieces. These distinctive feathers can be selected in a classic white or beige color or dyed to fit the specific color scheme of your wedding. Choose from two different types of ostrich feathers. Femina ostrich feathers are pure white, fluffy, and the most expensive. The less expensive option is the ostrich drab feathers that are wide and uniform in appearance. Drab feathers are naturally more of a light beige color. To create your centerpiece, place 25 to 40 feathers in a tall, Eiffel vase. The feathers will resemble the shape of a palm tree. To really make the centerpiece stand out, put glowing floral lights inside the vase.

Mardi Gras

Use feathers to create wedding reception centerpieces that reflect your Mardi Gras theme. One centerpiece option is to group three pillar candles of different sizes and surround the candles with bright-colored feathers. Consider using feathers in the traditional yellow, purple and green Mardi Gras colors. Another option is to decorate a plain eye mask with colorful sequins, beads and feathers. Place the mask in the center of the table or create one mask for each guest at the table to wear. Grouping the masks together in the center of the table creates an eye-catching centerpiece.

Feathers With Flowers

Incorporate feathers into flower arrangements to create wedding centerpieces. Create floral arrangements in vases or wine glasses. Pick flowers that reflect the wedding theme, season or color scheme. Add three or more feathers of any color or size to the floral arrangement. For a dramatic statement, consider using ostrich feathers to add height to any flower bouquet. This centerpiece can be placed on a mirror tile and surrounded by votive candles or scattered feathers.
