Draw The Oklahoma Condition Flag

Learning about what makes your state different from the others can be fun. Each state in the United States has a distinct state flag, and it can be a fun activity to try to draw your state's flag. The flag of Oklahoma is relatively easy to draw and just about anybody can do it.

Instructions

1. Draw a large horizontal rectangle. It should be big enough to draw the following elements inside it.

2. Draw a medium sized circle nearly in the center of the rectangle. The circle should be centered horizontally, but vertically it should be closer to the top than the bottom.

3. Draw a thin border around the circle. You will color this in later.

4. Draw six crosses inside the circle. They should look like plus signs (+). There should be three of them in a horizontal line near the top of the circle and three in a horizontal line near the bottom of the circle. Draw them as block symbols, meaning rather than just two lines, you should be able to fill them in with color.

5. Draw seven feathers hanging from the outer edge of the circle. If you pretend the circle is a clock, the first three feathers should be at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions. The other four will fill in the spaces between the 3 and 6, and the 6 and 9.

6. Draw the word Oklahoma between the bottom of the feathers and the bottom of the rectangle. The word should be drawn in all capital letters. Similar to the crosses inside the circle, these should be block letters that can be filled in, rather than just printed normally.

7. Draw a peace pipe and an olive branch in an X shape across the circle. The peace pipe should be drawn first with the bowl of the pipe on the bottom end and a feather hanging from the top end. The pipe should have two segments, separated about one-third of the length of the pipe from the bowl end. The olive branch should be drawn crossing over the pipe.

8. Color in the flag. The background of the flag should be colored sky blue. The word Oklahoma should be white. The border around the circle, the crosses, the bottom segment of the pipe and the feather hanging from the pipe should all be colored brown. The interior of the circle should be a tan or beige color. The remaining feathers should be outlined in brown or tan with white interiors. The top segment of the pipe should be white. Lastly, the olive branch should be colored green.
