Level A Concrete Floor By 5 Inches

Leveling a concrete floor should not be intimidating. There are several brands of leveling concretes on the market. These will actually perform the duty of surface leveling and spreading by themselves. The average homeowner can accomplish this project by following a few simple rules and using a good leveling concrete. This product is useful when preparing to add another floor surface over the concrete.

Instructions

1. Mix the self-leveling concrete per the recommendations on the package. This is done with the mixing blade on the drill. It will look a little thicker than regular concrete since it will need to flow. Mix two buckets to start.

2. Pour the first bucket into the lowest spot on the concrete and step away. Immediately mix the next bucket.

3. Pour the next bucket on the edge of the first area and mix another bucket. Continue this process until you have enough of the product to level the area. The concrete will actually move out since it is so fluid it will seek to level itself because of gravity. Do not take any breaks because it will dry very quick. Feather out the edges of the self leveling concrete while it is still wet. This will give you a clean edge. Allow it 24 hours to set.
