Create A Fairy Craft

Create a fairy craft using a clothespin.

Fairies are whimsical creatures that many children find intriguing. You can make a fairy craft with a few supplies from your local craft supply store. Creating your own fairy craft at home will allow you to show off your creative side and use your imagination to add your own custom touches to your fairy. You can hang these decorations in your child's room, or give them to her to play with as toys.

Instructions

Clothespin Fairies

1. Start by using acrylic paint to paint the clothespin any color you prefer. You can paint the entire clothespin the same color or paint each half a different color. For added decoration, sprinkle the clothespin with glitter while the paint is still wet. This will allow the glitter to stick.

2. Hot glue a pair of googly eyes to the head of the clothespin. Use a marker to draw rosy cheeks below the googly eyes. For more decoration, draw eyelashes and lipstick on the fairy. Create the arms and legs with colored pipe cleaners and glue them to the clothespin.

3. Use heavy cardstock or craft foam to make the fairies' wings. Cut the wings in any shape you would like and in any color. You can make the wings the same color or many different colors. Decorate the wings with markers, glitter, beads and ribbon. Use hot glue to glue the wings to the back of the clothespin.

4. Make hair for the fairy using ribbon, or for crazy hair, use small pieces of feathers. Glue the hair over the googly eyes. Cut small pieces of fabric to use as clothes for the fairy craft. Make a belt using a black or brown pipe cleaner and gluing a small piece of yellow or gold fabric to it for the buckle. Other ideas for the fairy craft are to use raffia or Spanish moss for the hair by gluing it above the googly eyes. You can also use artificial flower petals to create a dress for your fairy craft and use extra small flowers to put in the hair to create a hair bow.

5. Finish the fairy craft by adding glitter, feathers and beads to any areas that are plain or need more decoration. Sprinkle glitter all over the fairy when it is finished to make it sparkle.
