Draw An Anime Bird

Birds have a primary and secondary feather spread in their wings.

Populate your anime creations with birds of all kinds. Examine pictures of real birds for inspiration. Larger birds' wings are larger in comparison to the size of their bodies while smaller birds' wings contrast less. Birds in flight and birds at rest hold their heads differently for balance. Begin your drawing by sketching guidelines until you are happy with your pose. Draw several iterations of one type of bird and then move on to different species.

Instructions

1. Sketch a rough bird pose. Draw an oval for the body and leaf-like shapes for the wings. Add a triangle for the tail and a smaller egg-shaped oval for the head.

2. Sketch in the beak and eyes. Put a worm in the bird's mouth for added effect.

3. Draw in detailed feathers. Toward the top of each wing, add in 4 to 5 long finger-like spread feathers. Put in some feathers poking straight out on the back of the head.

4. Draw in your bird's feet. Tuck the feet close to the body when you are drawing a bird in flight.
