Frightening Slumber Party Games

Scary slumber party games.

If you are having a slumber party, you may want to have a few games to keep the party going. Their are many fun games to play. Include a few scary games that can be played as it gets later in the evening. Give away inexpensive prizes to the guests who win.

Scary Story

Before the party, write a scary story about a witch that falls apart limb by limb. Have plastic bags and brown paper sacks on hand. Fill each plastic bag with one food item such as grapes, noodles, popcorn kernels, jello, and a tomato. Place the plastic bags in separate brown paper sacks. When it is scary story time, dim the lights or light some candles. Have all of the kids sit in a circle. Read the story aloud. As you talk about the different body parts falling off, pass around the bags. For example, when you read about the teeth falling out, pass around the popcorn kernels. Let the kids feel inside. (No looking allowed.) As they feel what's in the bags, have them write down what they think they are actually touching. Whoever lists the most correct answers is the winner.

Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board

This is a popular slumber party game. Have one guest lie on the floor. All the other guests will sit around her with their hands slightly under her body. The person sitting at her head will tell a scary story about the person's untimely death. Once the story is finished, everyone will chant, "light as a feather, stiff as a board" over and over again. The guests will then lift the girl off the ground. The premise of this game is that the "spirits" are lifting the person. Let everyone have a turn.

Secret Murderer

You will need as many small pieces of paper as there are guests at the party. When you are ready to play the game, have each guest pick one of the pieces of paper. Make sure they do not show anyone. Every piece will be blank except one the word "murderer" written on it. The guests will walk around the party. The "murderer" will kill people by winking at them. When a guest is "killed," winked at, they will wait three seconds and then fall on the floor. If someone thinks he knows who the winner is, they will yell, "Stop." If they are wrong, they are automatically dead. If they are right, they win.
